Pellerin’s passing has started fights in Lafayette. Activists and his family have called for straightforwardness in examining the shooting, the arrival of police-worn body camera film, and the names of the officials who shot Pellerin.
Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory has gotten an analysis of his reaction to the shooting. He at first safeguarded officials’ activities without giving sympathies to the Pellerin family. He later apologized for his underlying response.
