Owen Lewis Death: Owen Holt Lewis August 13, 1926 – January 28, 2021

Lexington, Kentucky – Owen H. Lewis, age 94, of Lexington, KY passed on January 28, 2021. He was gone before in death by his better half Rachel Johnson Lewis. Owen was brought into the world in Versailles, KY on August 13, 1926. He experienced childhood in Lexington, KY and consumed his time on earth there. He was the child of Raymond Riley and Rooney Welch Lewis.

Owen was an alum of Lafayette High School and got a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He was an individual from Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma honorariums. He worked with Kentucky Utilities for a very long time, resigning in 1991, having filled in as Lexington Manager, Blue Grass Division Manager, and Vice President.

Owen resigned from the Army following 21 years of administration having served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Berlin Call-up. He filled in as commandant of the 100th Division’s Transportation Company for quite a while. He was an individual from Second Presbyterian Church where he filled in as a senior and minister. Continuously dynamic locally, Owen was Past Chairman of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, the Good Samaritan Hospital Board, and the Lexington Red Cross Chapter. He filled in as leader of the Blue Grass Chapter of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers and the Blue Grass Kiwanis Club.
