Neil Sheehan Obituary: Neil” Sheehan (October 27, 1936 – January 7, 2021) was an American writer. As a columnist for The New York Times in 1971, Sheehan got the ordered Pentagon Papers from Daniel Ellsberg. Sheehan was brought into the world in Holyoke, Massachusetts on October 27, 1936. His dad, Cornelius Joseph Sheehan, filled in as a dairy rancher; his mom, Mary (O’Shea), was a housewife. Both moved to the United States from Ireland.[2] He was raised on a dairy ranch close to Holyoke. Sheehan moved on from Mount Hermon School (later Northfield Mount Hermon) and Harvard University with a B.A. ever (cum laude) in 1958. He served in the U.S. Armed force from 1959 to 1962, when he was allocated to Korea and afterward moved to Tokyo; there, he managed job working two jobs in the Tokyo department of United Press International (UPI).[2]
