Mount Albert Accident – Obituary: A 15-year-old cyclist has kicked the bucket following a crash with a SUV north of Newmarket, York Regional Police Duty Insp. Marc Hilliker said. Police had at first said the casualty was in his mid 20s however have since said he was 15. The mishap happened at Doane Road and Center Street north of Mount Albert at about 2:40 p.m..

The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene, Hilliker said.

The significant impacts examination unit is exploring.

Police are engaging for witnesses or anybody with dashcam film to contact the unit at 905-895-1221 ext. 7703.

Unfortunately, this is the second deadly crash including a youthful casualty in York Region this end of the week.

On Sept. 25, a 28-year-elderly person was killed when her vehicle crashed into a SUV on Dufferin Street between Major Mackenzie Drive and Teston Road at about 11:15 a.m.
