Minnesota Twins seat mentor Mike Bell, the more youthful sibling of Cincinnati Reds director David Bell, passed on Friday of kidney disease. He was 46.

In line with Bell’s family to take the field in his honor, the Twins said their show game against Atlanta would be played as planned.

Mike Bell had a medical procedure Jan. 28 to eliminate a development that was found before that month. He’d withdrawn from the group to zero in on his wellbeing. Twins administrator Rocco Baldelli said toward the beginning of spring preparing that his top right hand in the burrow was “extremely, hopeful” about his recuperation.

“We know Mike as a baseball man, yet I can reveal to you that with the affection he has for the game and the adoration he had for every one individuals in the game, he was a family man first,” Baldelli said Friday.
