Ladarius Clardy, 18, was discovered dead with a few discharge wounds before day break Thursday after the vehicle he was driving smashed at a Pensacola crossing point. Neighborhood media sources report an anonymous 19-year-old traveler went through a medical procedure for gunfire wounds Thursday at a Pensacola emergency clinic. The traveler’s condition was obscure early Friday.

Clardy was going to Kennesaw State University in rural Atlanta, where he had played in a few games.

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said at a news meeting Thursday that examiners are looking for suspects and encouraged those with data to contact police.

Clardy has been a football and track star at Pensacola’s Pine Forest High School, graduating in 2020 with the secondary school’s passing record.
