This is a truly hard post to make. Our previous partner Herb Thomas died yesterday. Numerous in the general population may recall him as “Soul Man” during the “Large Chuck and Lil John” period. He was the photographic artist who encouraged me when I initially showed up at Fox 8 (24 years prior tomorrow). We cooperated consistently and went away on stories together.

He alluded to me as one of “his kids.” He was a tutor, a companion and simply an extraordinary person. I’m lucky that I ended up running into him at a coffee shop on East 185th around 90 days prior and we had the option to talk, visit and express our appreciation for one another. One of the last things he said to me was “ensure your life has meaning while you actually can.” I’m truly harmed by this, he was a particularly incredible individual! Tear Herb!
