Cecil Hurt Obituary – Alabama sports author Cecil Hurt, who covered Alabama sports for the Tuscaloosa News for almost 40 years, has died Tuesday evening at UAB Medical Center after a long sickness. He was 62 years of age.
Brought into the world in Tuscaloosa, Hurt started his vocation as an Alabama beat essayist in 1982 during Paul “Bear” Bryant’s last season.
