Richard Schleicher Obituary – Death: Richard was brought into the world on March 21, 1934 in Pingree, North Dakota to Harry and Freda (Parks) Schleicher. He went to Frazee High School and moved on from Crookston Agricultural College. He joined the Air power in the fall of 1951. He met his first love Hazel (Suvanto) at a party in Wolf Lake, where he winked at her to stand out enough to be noticed. They were joined in marriage on June 7, l953 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN. Their marriage was honored with five kids: Paula, Richard Jr., Brian, Rhonda and Eric. After they were hitched Dick and Hazel moved to the Bryan Air Force Base in Texas.

He served his country for a very long time. In the United States Air Force he was a Mechanic on the B52 aircraft and was elevated to first Sergeant where he served one year in Vietnam, prior to resigning. He was respectably released in 1973. In the wake of resigning from the Air Force he began the Schleicher”s Steak House in Nevis, MN where many enduring kinships were begun. Dick and Hazel delighted in serving loved ones with their great cooking and warm friendliness.

They were continually able to show their benevolent soul to their clients by opening the Steak House whenever when called upon. Dick”s love for barbecuing stretched out to the lodge just as at home. He cherished messing around: like dice and cards and engaged numerous with his ceaseless progression of jokes, even most as of late with the medical attendants who dealt with him. He cherished watching the assortment of Minnesota local birds that came to eat out of his birdfeeders. Most of his time was spent chipping in for the VFW in Wolf Lake, the Eagles Club and American Legion in Park Rapids. He was well known for his yearly St. Patrick”s Day corn meat and cabbage supper.
