Richard Rowe Obituary – Richard J. Rowe 1924-2021 Educator Richard J. Rowe of Gaithersburg died July 12, 2021, at Montgomery Hospice. Notwithstanding his life partner Jean (Collins), Richard was predeceased by guardians Verner and Nellie (Burns) Rowe; his companion Jean (Collins); sister Ellen; and three youngsters, James, Dorothy, and William. He is made due by seven youngsters, Richard (Dale), Mary (Rick Laird), Timothy (Faye), Bartholomew, Luke, Hannah (Eric Christopher), and Edward (Shamya), 26 grandkids and 28 greatgrandchildren.

Richard was brought into the world in Portland Maine on 11 March 1924. He enrolled in the Army in 1943 filling in as a transporter in the Asian-Pacific Theater of Operations. After WWII, he acquired a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University and a MA in Education from Boston University. In 1978, Northeastern perceived Richard as a remarkable former student. He wedded Jean Therese Collins on 29 July 1950. They made homes for their 10 youngsters in Massachusetts and for 50 or more years in Gaithersburg, MD. For a considerable length of time, Richard educated and filled in as a chairman at Dean Junior College (Franklin, MA), Northeastern, and Berkshire Community College (Pittsfield MA). Both Dean and BCC graduating classes decided to commit yearbooks to Professor Rowe.

In 1965, Richard entered government common help as a Senior Program Officer with the US Office of Education Region I. In 1970, he moved to the Washington office in places of expanding liability. At retirement, he was the Executive Director, National Advisory Committee on International Education, and a broadly perceived master in agreeable and proceeding with schooling programs. He intellectualized his decisions, accepted his conviction framework (confidence, God), and reacted with energy for what new freedom may lie ahead. Robert Frost’s sonnet “The Road Not Taken’ depicts this man who was confronted with professional changes, area changes, and the misfortunes of friends and family who went ahead consistently with the most elevated moral responsibility and fortitude.
