Paul Materiuk Obituary – Banners at city corridor and Owen Sound and Emergency Services were brought down to half-pole Wednesday out of appreciation for a city fireman who passed on out of the blue while off the clock. Paul Material, 41, kicked the bucket Tuesday. He was a city fireman for quite some time. He was dynamic in supporting neighborhood veterans, remembering giving initiative to the city’s Remembrance Day occasions, and helping with a local group of fire-fighters toy drive.

“He appreciated setting up camp, fishing, and scuba plunging and went through numerous hours outside with his chocolate lab Ash which he cherished without question,” a city news discharge said. The banners were brought down in acknowledgment of Mr. Materiuk’s passing and long periods of administration to the Owen Sound people group.

Owen Sound Mayor Ian Boddy said in the delivery “for my board associates, staff and the occupants of the city, I give my earnest sympathies to Mr. Materiuk’s folks Patricia and Jim, his loved ones.”
