Gary peacock death : One of the extraordinary jazz bassists, Gary Peacock, has kicked the bucket at 85 years old. Drummer Jack DeJohnette, Peacock’s recent partner in the Keith Jarrett trio, has offered recognition among the numerous on the web: ”It is with profound misery that we grieve the death of the incomparable Gary Peacock. I had the favorable luck to have gone through more than 30 years playing some stunning music with him both independently and the Trio with Keith Jarrett.

Gary had an extraordinary sound, feel and profoundly innovative creative mind. It was Gary’s collection on ECM, Tales of Another that united us, after that we chose to remain playing together, and the rest is history. I have a ton of adoration and appreciation for what he has added to the music we call Jazz. Lydia and I send our most profound love to the Peacock family you are in our souls forever.”

Peacock’s profession was very exceptional both incorporating the vanguard and into the standard collection and he showed up on records by Albert Ayler, Paul Bley, Marc Copland, Marilyn Crispell just as his own records as a pioneer, and obviously in one of the best jazz piano trios ever, the Keith Jarrett trio.
