Ryan Rutledge Car Accident: A neighborhood high schooler was killed Monday night after the vehicle he was driving went over through a wire rope guardrail, down a dike and into the Pomperaug River.

Ryan Anthony Rutledge, 17, of Southbury, was articulated dead at the location of the single-vehicle crash that happened close to the Southbury Dog Park around 10:35 p.m., police said.

A traveler in his 2020 Jeep Wrangler — a 16-year-old young lady from Woodbury — was moved to Waterbury Hospital with genuine wounds, as indicated by police.
