Jimmy Neary Obituary – Death: Jimmy Neary, proprietor of the notable Neary’s eatery and bar on 57th Street and First Avenue, kicked the bucket calmly in his rest Friday night, his family declared. He was 91. The happy, steadily grinning Irishman opened Neary’s over 50 years prior, on St. Patrick’s Day in 1967. It’s been a New York City staple since.

“We need to thank you just for being a piece of his life. Father adored all of you and he appreciated being with you for the past 55+ years,” the family wrote in an assertion posted on the entryway of Neary’s Saturday night.

“You were every one of the a basic piece of his family and improved his life in incalculable ways. As he generally said ‘I love my life!'”

The eatery is relied upon to be briefly shut while the family grieves.

Neary’s memorial service will be held next Saturday at 10 a.m. St. Patrick’s Cathedral, directed by long-term companion Cardinal Timothy Dolan, his girl Una told The Post.

Neary opened his renowned bar on St. Patrick’s Day in 1967.
