James Faith Death : What does it benefit, my brethren, in the event that somebody says he has confidence however doesn’t have works? Would faith be able to spare him? 15 If a sibling or sister is exposed and desperate of every day food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Leave in harmony, be warmed and filled,” yet you don’t give them the things which are required for the body, what does it benefit? 17 Thus likewise confidence without anyone else, in the event that it doesn’t have works, is dead.
18 But somebody will say, “You have confidence, and I have works.” Show me your confidence without [a]your works, and I will show you my confidence by [b]my works. 19 You accept that there is one God. You progress admirably. Indeed, even the evil presences accept—and shudder! 20 But would you like to know, O silly man, that confidence without works is [c]dead? 21 Was not Abraham our dad defended by works when he offered Isaac his child on the raised area? 22 Do you see that confidence was cooperating with his works, and by works confidence was made [d]perfect? 23 And the Scripture was satisfied which says, “Abraham trusted God, and it was [e]accounted to him for exemplary nature.” And he was known as the companion of God. 24 You see then that a man is supported by works, and not by confidence as it were.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the prostitute additionally supported by works when she got the couriers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the soul is dead, so confidence without works is dead too.
