Gvsu death: A sprinter found a body on the Grand Valley State University grounds and police are examining the demise as dubious. The body was found close to the intermural athletic fields, south of West Campus Drive, on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 12.

GVSU President Philomena Mantella later Saturday, in a composed articulation to the grounds network, said the individual was an understudy.

“This is disastrous information for our whole network. I give my most profound sympathies to the understudy’s loved ones,” she composed.

She said police were “forcefully examining this occurrence.”

“I need to guarantee you that we have each asset committed to the examination and on the side of our grounds network,” Mantella composed.

GVSU prior Saturday gave an alarm about the passing to understudies and staff.

An examination is in progress by the GVSU Police Department, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police.

Mantella said that GVSU police will have extra staff chipping away at grounds for the rest of the end of the week and that GVSU Counseling Center staff were prepared to give help to anybody out of luck.

“This is a shaking and stunning occasion for us all,” she composed. “This misfortune helps us to remember the significance of every individual from our college network.
