Bobby Roundtree Obituary: Bobby Roundtree, the previous Illinois champion cautious end who was incapacitated starting from the waist in a swimming mishap two years prior, kicked the bucket Friday, the college reported.
He was 23. The school didn’t uncover a reason for death. Roundtree passed on in Tampa, where he had rehabbing from the spinal string injury.
“We all with Illinois Athletics are stunned and disheartened by the abrupt passing of Bobby Roundtree,” Illinois games chief Josh Whitman said in a proclamation. “From his first day nearby, Bobby was a pioneer. His hard working attitude, cutthroat fire, and drive for greatness put him aside.
“Following his unfortunate mishap, those equivalent characteristics permitted him to handle his new difficulties with the very power and assurance that we had seen on the football field,” Whitman said. “In this manner, he kept on carrying light and motivation to the existences of everyone around him — and, truth be told, to such countless individuals who had never had the joy of meeting him.”
