Bill Marcroft Obituary: Bill Marcroft, the long-lasting telecaster and “voice of the Utes,” has kicked the bucket, school authorities said Sunday.

College of Utah head football trainer Kyle Whittingham and athletic chief Mark Harlan affirmed the passing on Twitter Sunday, considering Marcroft an “symbol.”

“He was a symbol of Utah Athletics for endless years and abandons a mind boggling heritage,” Whittingham said. “Sending adoration to his family. He will be extraordinarily missed.”

Harlan said Marcroft “was so kind, and simply adored Utah Athletics.

“My best to his family during this troublesome time,” Harlan composed.

Marcroft went through 38 years as the “Voice of the Utes,” calling football and men’s b-ball games at his institute of matriculation for KALL 700 radio and KUTV. A 1952 alumni with degrees in theater expressions and correspondences, Marcroft resigned following the 2004 football season, which finished with Utah’s success over Pitt in the Fiesta Bowl to complete 13-0.
