Police said speed, liquor and inability to utilize a safety belt were factors in the deadly accident. He was dead at the scene.

Farragut head Stephanie Thompson delivered a proclamation Thursday for the benefit of the school, which read: “The workforce, staff and understudies of Farragut High School are disheartened by the sad passing of 2008 alumni and previous understudy competitor Andre Sterling. We all who realized him will recall his family in our considerations and petitions.”

Naval commanders senior hostile lineman Nathan Gilliam reviewed a particular memory of Sterling on Wednesday on Twitter, tweeting: “I will consistently recall him running into that end zone each time he contacted the ball.”
