john getty death: John Gilbert Getty, the grandson of oil mogul J. Paul Getty, has passed on. He was 52.

His family affirmed the artist’s passing on Monday. The Getty beneficiary passed on Friday in San Antonio, Texas.

“With overwhelming sadness, Gordon Getty declares the demise of his child, John Gilbert Getty,” a representative for his dad author Gordon Getty said in a proclamation gave to PEOPLE.

“John abandons his little girl, Ivy Getty, whom he cherished incalculable, and his siblings Peter and Billy. His sibling, Andrew, predeceased John. John’s mom, Ann Gilbert Getty, passed this September.”

“John was a capable artist who cherished rock and roll. He will be profoundly missed.”
