Ben Ngubane Death: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has portrayed the territory’s previous chief, Dr Ben Ngubane, who passed on Monday morning, as a unifier who assumed a vital part in building the establishment for the KZN government. Ngubane kicked the bucket at a Richards Bay medical clinic where he was getting therapy in the wake of becoming sick around fourteen days prior.
Zikalala said Ngubane, who later turned into an envoy and Eskom board director, was a visionary chief.
“The territory has lost a sturdy worker, a fine researcher and a genuine visionary who drove the drive for financial and political solidarity in the region,” he said.
Ngubane filled in as KZN chief from 1997 to 1999 when the region was all the while engaging to finish the contention between the ANC and IFP which cost a few lives.
“Dr Ngubane was urgent in building intimate relations with the administration of the ANC. He generally had a consistent hand and was pervaded with the expertise and astuteness to deal with fragile circumstances with judgment and due affectability.
“He tried for some degree of reconciliation, and the structure another vote based, non-racial, non-misogynist and prosperous South Africa.
