Rachel Cook Obituary – Death: Rachel Edwards, 93, of Richmond, passed on Monday, April 11, 2011. She was brought into the world in Southampton County on June 14, 1917. Mrs. Cook was gone before in death by her significant other of 46 years, Benjamin Ashby Cook. She is made due by her little girl, Patricia Cook Benton of Ashland; two grandsons, Philip Evans Smith (Sherry) of Savannah, Ga. also,

Dr. Michael S. Smith (Jennifer) of Kenbridge, Va.; and three grandkids, Callie, Graham and Emory. Mrs. Cook was a long-standing individual from Patterson Avenue Baptist Church, where she was dynamic in numerous jobs including deaconess and Sunday School instructor. Memorial service administrations will be held in the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011. The family will get companions one hour preceding the help. Interment will continue in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
